Inspector Certification
Automotive Service Excellence:
NVI Blairsville is an ASE Testing Facility
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE for short, sets the industry standard with their certification program. This includes testing in various automotive systems. For each exam that is passed, an ASE Certification is awarded. ASE certified technicians have verified their competence and technical abilities in the automotive service industry - and they have the credentials to prove it!
In order to attain ASE Certification, technicians must complete a minimum of two years of qualified work experience and pass a challenging test for each certification.
To ensure technicians are up-to-date on current systems and technologies, ASE Certified Technicians are required to prove their technical knowledge by retesting every 5 years to keep their certifications current.
Inspector Certification Courses
Safety Inspection: Every vehicle that operates on Pennsylvania’s roads is required to undergo an annual safety inspection. NVI offers the course to become a certified safety inspector. We offer testing for categories 1, 2 and 3 (category 1 covers passenger cars and light trucks up to 17000 lbs and trailers up to 10,000 lbs. Category 2 covers motorcycles, Category 3 covers trucks 17001 lbs and up as well as trailers 10,001 lbs and up).
Emissions Inspection: Customers who live in IM counties are required to have an annual emissions inspection performed. NVI offers the course to become a certified emissions inspector.
